Upgrade of processor

Hi there have you simply tried overclocking your system? You can speed up your CPU by 56% by overclocking to 3.33ghz that will make a big difference From the stock 2.13ghz. I would buy a better heatsink and fan if your still on stock cooler! Most game only need a 2 core CPU! Here's a link to the overclock http://m.tomshardware.com/reviews/cheap-thrills,1335.html

If it's a dell then proper overclocking is not possible. You could overclock in software, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I believe the Q6600 quad core will work with that system, but I would not suggest going down this route - as a Q6600 still costs ~£70-80 and you still won't be able to overclock this 2.4GHz (stock) CPU. Instead, I would suggest putting the money towards a new motherboard and CPU (possibly an AMD quad core and DDR2 board).

If you dont want to spend much get the q6600 as mentioned. But you could sell what you have and then buy all new for around 300 400 and would be a lot better and future proof

del have got to be the worst for upgrading. They make it like that so you buy new from them
