Looking at some of the offers on OCUK and wondering if I should use this chance to upgrade anything. Not interested in very small gains, but definitely in anything which would be a good jump or reduce a bottleneck etc.. Current spec:

- Ryzen 9 3900XT
- 64GB RAM DDR4 @ 1330mhz
- B550-e gaming mobo (the one with the dodgy/broken WIFI)
- 2 x 36" iiyama widescreens
- Disks: 860 Evo 1TB SSD, WD 2TB SATA, 500GB 970 NVME
- Radeon RX 6800XT
- Widows 10 Home 64bit
- Steelseries headphones, Blue yeti mic/arm, Logitech C920 cam
- Internet is LAN into Fibre (just upgraded from Sky 40MB to Virgin 600MB)

I do a fair bit of content recording and/or streaming( mix of work and pleasure), light gaming, online poker, and often have a ridiculous number of things open at once.

A 5800x3d is the fastest gaming CPU for your platform but if nothing is struggling and you've got enough FPS then I would say not worth an upgrade.

64 GB at 1333mhz is double so that would be 2666 mhz .

Download MSI afterburner to monitor FPS, CPU , GPU usage, etc.
This tbh. 5800X3D is a great upgrade, then save your money.

If there is ever a thread that should be titled "Money burns a hole in my pocket", it's this one.
Thanks for the helpful, insightful comment.

I'm actually asking because I don't have time to keep up with hardware evolution and thought I'd take advantage of discounts if appropriate.

Unless you are reaching the limit of what your current computer can do, and you are struggling or experiencing performance issues, then this is more about you wanting to upgrade because your pocket is on fire rather than needing to.

FYI: while the 5800X3D is a great upgrade for gaming, for multithreaded stuff there's not much in it, your 3900XT can even be faster.
