Looking into upgrading our spare system,

GA-H55M-S2 Board
i3 2100 3.20GHz clarkdale
500gb hd
geforce 430 gt*
500 psu*
4gb memory*

Board/cpu/hd is fine for purpose. Video card is a nuisance though, and its about time the power supply was replaced (rather than wait for it to pop its clogs). Might as well grab a memory kit while at it.

The video card (usually go with nvdia but ati is fine too, quiet running)
500W or greater PSU (reliable make, quiet running)
8GB or greater memory kit (1600mhz ddr3)

Around the £150 mark, but options slightly above/below are fine too
Preferbly from this place, as I trust them more than other retailers I've had dealings with

Will check back later, thank you in advance

That can't be right. Thats incompatable.

Sorry for the typo mate! (Core i3 550 clarkdale 3.2ghz)
Its just one of primo ignition builds we picked up a while back.

@beejjacobs even if its a bit above budget feel free to include a viddy card if you see this, disregard the postage its already accounted for.

Not big on going second hand even for spares/random bits.
Stopped using sites like ebay cause most use rm over couriers to reduce cost but leave the big horrible sticker on the parcel so mail sorters know your stuffed if it "goes missing"
As a buyer you don't have a pot to pee in anymore its your word vs theirs.

Thanks for the replies, very much appreciated

Not primarily, but it does get used for gaming on occasion so its a plus.

Ta for the heads up on the 6850.. its strangley peculiar that its priced up the same as the 550 gtx, yet seems miles ahead of it from various benchmarks

Seems like the sensible choice + the the memory

As for the power supply.. I've used cx's in builds before, they don't still ship with miles of cable do they? (pain in the bum tidying it all up with man fingers)

I mean even the small cx 400+'s a couple years back came with enough cable to decorate a bondage chamber last time I had one :)

Bugger it I think it might actually be the same model lol :)
Its the best psu for the money I know that from using them, I just hate the excess cable

Again tyvm for the feedback/replies
