Hi all

I currently have an 64gb crucial m4 for windows and a 250gb hdd for everything else and I think its time to get myself a larger drive as I'm getting sick of having to constantly clear space on both drives.

Planning on going for a Samsung 850 evo, but am I better off with a pair of 250gb ssd's or a single 500gb? for what its worth the computers used solely for gaming

At some point in the future when a cpu that offers something more than my oc'd 2500k is released I'll build something new and probably go with a m2 drive for the os, don't know if that's something that should be taken into account :D

Thanks for the response, so I'll go ahead and order the 500gb 850evo.

Aside from a couple saved game files there's nothing on there that I'm fussed about losing that I can't re-download, so I'm guessing a clean install of Windows is best as opposed to cloning.

It's been a while since I've used one drive so bare with me, when I install the drive I guess I create 2 partions one for the os and the other for program files, what size do I need for the os?

If you dont mind doing a clean install it would probably be best, I usually like to do it once or twice a year just to keep the OS drive clutter free.

ccleaner and other programs can only do so much.

I am afraid I cannot give any advice on the partition front because I always have an OS drive completely separate from the rest of the system, im so paranoid about screwing things up I even remove the cables from my additional hard drives so the boot info isnt stored on one of those (Happened to me before, when installing windows 7 it decided to use 100mb on a separate HDD for the boot info stuff so I couldnt remove the drive until I reinstalled windows)

Much the same i tend to do a clean windows install a couple of times a year, joys of not using the machine for anything other than gaming

In the end I went for a pair of drives a 500gb and 120 as a boot disk
