So, I built my current PC about 6 years ago (someone on here recommended this build, which I went with).

Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE FARCRY3, Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs & 20% off MOH Warfighter PC Games
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail
Samsung 256GB SSD 830 Notebook/Apple Series SATA 6Gb/s KIT with Norton Ghost - (MZ-7PC256N/EU)
Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard
Pioneer BDR-207EBK 12x BluRay RW / 16x DVD±RW 128GB - Retail
Microsoft Windows 8 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00403)
Seasonic G series 550w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
Corsair Hydro H80i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1155 / LGA1156 / LGA1366 / LGA2011/ AM2 / AM3 / FM1 / FM2)
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST2000DM001)
BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case - Arctic White
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

So, the question is, is there much I can do with this? Or do I need a fresh build?
I don't play many AAA games these days, but I'd like to be able to play new games at a reasonable frame rate, and I'd like to get myself a rig that can run VR well. All other peripherals are already sorted (the 2k budget would include the VR headset and stuff).
I would love some more SSD storage (maybe completely replace the HDD), I also would like some more memory.
Like to spend at little as possible, but also want it to be future proof.

Thanks for your help.

I was going to tell you to keep your cpu, ram and motherboard but the Ryzen 2600 is at such a good price you can get a fantastic rig for 2k.
I have not included a case but there a good amount of £50ish cases on here, and the CPU comes with a decent stock cooler but you would need something better for overclocking.

If you wanted a nicer case and CPU cooler then you could sell the majority of your current rig to fund the extra cost.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,953.93 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Since you are including the VR kit in the £2K, which will cost between £500 and £1000, I think you should just get yourself a new GPU and the VR kit, more RAM, and a decent SSD.
