My pc is due for an upgrade, as its starting to feel a little slow and its time to upgrade. Unfortunately the wife and kids dictate the budget, absolute max I have is £250.
My current system is as follows,
DFI LANParty UT3 250GB
Skt 754 AMD 64-3000 CPU (ran O/C at 3200 equiv)
Thermalright XP-120
1GB DDR400 Ram (matched pair 512mb)
AGP Leadtek 6800 Graphics Card (128mb)
I have bought the following (just waiting for delivery)
Asus A8N-SLI Premium (20 pounds more than the SE but I wanted Firewire etc)
AMD 64-3700 CPU (San Diego)
BFG 7600GT (PCI-e with 256mb DDR3)
Aerocool 64 Freezer Pro
I know it’s not going to be a massive improvement and its not AM2 but my budget is fixed and I could not go any higher.
My biggest concern is will I have any improvement over my existing system when gaming, is the 7600GT any faster than what I have? I know this option is a little more upgrade friendly though which is the main reason for its purchase.
Thanks
John
