Upgrade or save for a new rig?

Just looking for the opinion of the hive mind, I've got an FX6350 and an HD 7870 2GB, is it worth upgrading the graphics card to something like a 390x or should I just start saving for a new system entirely? AFAIK my CPU hasn't been a bottleneck in any games, the PC is used solely for gaming, I've noticed newer titles like GTA V can no longer be maxed out or can no longer run at high/highest settings with 60fps+ at 1920x1080.

CPU is fine for now, I'd definitely be looking at a new GPU though.

I have the same one and it's a bit long in the tooth now with some games :D

You can look at the GTX 970 or R9 390.

Thanks for the replies, the 390 looks like it'd be a huge upgrade on what I have now, think I will opt for that. Is there any point waiting until the new year for potential January sales?

I would upgrade your cpu to intel and get a better card myself. You can't max GTA V out on just 2gb vram, it's simply not enough. I use just under 4gb vram for that game.

I would upgrade the graphics card for sure but wouldn't go for the top end as it would bottleneck.

My 8350 used to bottleneck with the 980ti, before I replaced it.

390 sounds like a good shout to be honest, especially for GTAV due to VRAM, see what sales are on this week? Might be some nice offers about

Rumour has it there will be some tasty options in the OCUK deals tomorrow - go 390, you wont regret it!

AMD 390 to be had tomorrow for £205, but that 6350 is coming close to it's lifespan, they just can't hold their own any more with some bigger titles.
