Upgrade Or Sell?

Hello,

Although my computer is just over 2 years old and I don't game that much (F1 2019 and Doom Eternal at the moment), I'd like to get better GPU performance.

Graphics apart, the system performs great and my building days are well behind me now, so would a £200 GPU upgrade be worth it, or would the rest of the system hold it back?

Apart from that, how much do you think I'd get for this set up in the Classified's?

Kolink Aviator Midi Tower Gaming Case
Super Flower Platinum King 550W 80 Plus Platinum
Intel Core i3-8350K 4.0GHz (Coffee Lake)
Asus GeForce GTX 1050Ti Cerberus AE 4096MB @ 1700Mhz
Samsung 960 EVO Polaris 250GB M.2
Asus Prime Z370-P Intel Z370 (Socket 1151) DDR4
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18

Cheers.

If it was my personal choice I'd just upgrade the GPU, I'd sell your current one and add some more money to the £200 you have and grab something along the lines of 1660 super, However, Saying that you could opt for the RX590 8GB which I think is currently for sale on OCUK for £180 ish... Solid performance and will go well with your system... I know you have a 4 core processor but for what you do, it will hold out for a while longer.

You have a pretty nice system, apart from in the 2 areas that matter the most; cpu and gpu. It would cost too much to put an 8700k/ 8600k (or 9700k) in there, and the 9400f while having 2 extra cores, can't overclock, so would be more of a side-grade.

I'd see if you can find a 1660 super for around £200, and overclock that cpu. Not an ideal situation, but unless you can find a good deal on a used cpu, that's about the best option.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

I was looking at the 1660 super, a little more than I'd like to pay, but it should be a good upgrade. I did look at the 1650 super and RX590 as well, but according to the reviews, the RX is more power hungry, runs hotter and makes more noise, plus I'm a GeForce user for years.

It's tempting to buy a new one and sell this, but I doubt I'd get that much for it, so will probably go with the 1660 super for now.
