hi, in a recent post on another thread i asked about upgrading my system and the majority of reply s i got said to upgrade my gfx card for the most performance boost. Well i was just wondering how my present card compares to the latest cards and what at this moment in time it might compare to .
My current card is MSI TWIN FROZER GTX 570.
the rest of my system is ... i7 920 6 gig pc3 ram cm 620 power supply...
Any help would be most welcome and would help decide if its worth spending the money or waiting and just getting a complete new system..
 
If it runs things satisfactorily, upgrade nothing. You have a good pc.

If performance is wanting, then just upgrade the graphics card - and buy now as nothing is due around the corner.
 
Thanks for that, it seems at the moment that a lot of people on this forum seem to recommending the 7950 to people wanting to upgrade. Would i see an improvement if i was to opt for one of these?
 
Thankyou, in this monthe pc gamer they review this card ,Sapphire HD 7870 XT rev2.0 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express and rate it highly...what do you think?

Yes, a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing is that one. Though In order to see worthwhile gains over your 570 with the 7870XT, I think you'd definitely need to overclock it. However, once that is done, you could be potentially sitting pretty above stock 7950 performance. :)

I would still go with the Radeon 7950 as you can OC it as well to match performance of the GTX 670 which costs about £70 more
