I'm having a bit of a dilemma with myself on whether to upgrade my current graphics card set up...

I am currently running a 2 way Sli EVGA 4gb GTX 670 SC cards...both cards are water cooled.

However I will be going to a triple screen set up in the next month or so and I am wondering if its worth upgrading my cards too as I would like to get as near to max settings in games with triple monitors as I can get with good fps (60fps)

I am a fan of using Nvidia cards so would prefer to stick with them. Can I get better performance from a single card now than I would my two gtx 670 cards, I will most likely get the single card now (it will be water cooled too) then upgrade to a 2nd card over time....

Just really looking for some good advice on what cards I should be looking at and whether to upgrade with my triple monitor's or wait to upgrade my card if my 2 gtx 670 cards can handle triple monitors ???

You'll be hard pushed to get sli 670 performance from a single card, 780 ti may come close. It's a side grade at most i would think, especially with 4gb cards.

Stick it out and wait for high end Maxwell gets my vote.

Hi
I had 2 gigabyte gtx 670oc sli
i got a sapphire 290x
to be honest its a good card but a side step in performance.
I would wait a while unless you have trouble with sli.

Point taken...this was one of my issues, running sli on triple monitors...it will be a new thing for me so not sure what to expect and my thinking was I'd have less issues running triple monitors from a single card but if I'm going to side step at best then its probably best to wait for better cards to come out....thanks

As someone who was using 670 SLI, then a 780ti and now 780ti SLI, absolutely no point upgrading your 670 SLI setup unless you get a new SLI setup of 780s (if you want to stay nvidia).

One 780(Ti) is a sidestep, even a slight down step in some games compared to 670 SLI

I wasn't saying wait though. If upgrading to 3 monitors now, you're going to need more grunt now, if you want solid 60fps at max settings in games

I'd wait as your sli cards are about as good as any single card out there atm
Other solution would be to wait till you can afford both cards then make the jump

I've got sli 670's and they still beat single overcloked 290x's and 780ti's in games with good scaling. I'm waiting for Maxwell/20nm
