I did some cheapish upgrades (well I say upgrades even though I'm still 6 years behind everyone else but it beats being 8 years behind) since I had some money from my birthday, went from a Phenom 9650, GeForce 9600GT and 4GB of DDR2 to an Athlon II X4 635, Sapphire Radeon 6850 1GB and 8GB of DDR2 for about £87. While I could've put that towards a new build my wage fluctuates and I'm pretty sure the 9600GT was on it's way out so I bought all that stuff and I'm happy with it.
My question is now what would be a logical upgrade path from here? I know the CPU supports DDR3 so would say swapping out the board and RAM for an am3+ socket board and DDR3 be a good idea or would I be better off just saving and springing for DDR4? None of this will be until atleast a few months into 2017 because Christmas gifts plus I'm no stranger to buying used so hopefully with the new Intel/AMD stuff prices will drop on the older stuff.
There is some stuff I'd like to replace or upgrade, mostly upping the SSD to 128GB, HDD to 1TB and replacing my monitor. I'd also like to replace the PSU as it's some old Antec one from atleast 2008 which doesn't even have PCI-E power on it so replacing that would probably be good. But yeah, any advice/ideas is appreciated, cheers! Full specs/etc below.
