Hey guys :)

With STALKER 2 being released in April (Hopefully :p) i'm gearing up for an upgrade in preparation for that!

Current spec:

Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 Mobo
2700X
Team Group Night Hawk RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit
Sapphire Vega 64

I barely use the PC at the moment, Rocket League once a week if that, so i'm hoping that my CPU, Ram & motherboard would hold up for another few years and I could just slot a new GPU in to extend it's life, would this be a correct assumption?

What would be a worthy upgrade on the GPU? Thinking of keeping an eye on the MM for a 3060 or 3070, budget isn't really capped but don't want to drop £3k on a 3090 for it just to sit there doing nothing :p

Your GPU is worth around £750 to a miner based on £15 a mh/s, that card will do around 50-55. Should add a good amount to your kitty.

3060ti/3070/3070ti would be my go to cards...are you subscribed to FEPartAlert on telegram? Cheapest way of getting a current gen gpu

I'm not, i'll have a google and sort that out!

Interesting! I shall do some research :)

Nvidia Founder Edition cards
3060ti £369, 3070 £469, 3070ti £529, 3080 £649, 3080ti >£1,099 I think, 3090 £1399
On your phone download telegram(can also get desktop version linked), then subscribe to FEPartAlert
That shoes all Europe/UK releases of the cards when they happen with a link to getting them. When the drop happens(tends to be once a month but random), click the card you want(not all cards are dropped at same time so some months just a couple etc, click the link and buy card..the cards sell out in minutes. drops can happen anytime, last uk one was a sat evening.
To help, it's worth setting up an account with the distributor(only 1 in uk) to make payment easier...also worth making sure the card you pay with isn't linked to a bank hold and check, as people have lost cards while waiting for authorisation(if you don't check out fairly quickly, you loose the card). 1 card per person/household per genaration(for example, i got a 3080FE(best bang for buck so if you going for a FE card, I recommend that one..but after I got it I can't buy another card, even if using my wife details etc as we live at the same address.
Anyway, good luck

someone else just asked same question on another thread...I'm putting same vid for you to see ryzen progression. hope it helps...at 1440p gaming becomes more gpu limited rather than cpu. you'll likely loose a little fps having a pcie3 gpu slot rather than pcie4..your ram..running at 2400C16 or 3000C16?

From the vid it looks like the marginal gains i'd get from upgrading CPU wouldn't really be worth the cost to me!

I'll have a check on the RAM speeds this evening and post back, would I benefit from slotting in some faster DDR4? And would upping it to 32GB make a difference?

came across this above. 2x8 v 2x16 ram....some games made a diff, most noteably in the 1% lows..wasn't really expecting to see a difference tbh. Maybe due to type or ram(dual/single rank). i bought 32GB myself, only as futureproofing...as ram becomes cheaper and more people buy higher ram modules, developers alway make use of the extra etc(just as mobs in past had 1/2gb...now my sons phone has 12gb onboard)
did you check ram speed?
