Upgrade Path

Just after peoples opinions really.

Current rig;

3600 x2
2gb (4x512) 667mhz
gigabyte am2 board (forget model, irrelevant anywho)
x1950 pro

hard drives are fine for now, and so is everything else.

I have £180 to put into upgrading this lil baby and i really dont know what to do.

its a very strange sorta upgrade but

And im aware i could go C2D but i dont think the performance increase would beat 4gb of ram and crossfire.

im also aware that upgrade is not gonna be great bang for buck..

(also i wont be raising more money throu selling spare bits. they can go towards HTPC!)

anyway - ideas ?

or would

give a better performance incrase?

what version of windows you running ? as standard xp and xp pro dont support 4gb ram i know

so yeah it'll see (and use!) all that ram no problem

option1: lets you max out your current config

option2: gives you a good base for the future

I'd go option2, and add to it over time (cooler, gfx, ram, s/c, whatever). But it really depends on why you're upgrading. best of luck, mate
