upgrade please help

What's your total budget?

You could get a second hand Q6600 for ~£50 and a 460GTX for ~£80 - that would be a considerable overall boost.

What do you use the rig for mainly?

Or you consider selling all your parts separately and buying a budget AMD spec or if you have the pennies a SB setup.

Where can you get a GTX 460 for £80, there going for around £200

I heard these 460's are better than the 560's????

The GTX560 are made using a very similar gpu core, but come running at higher core/shader and memory speeds, so are faster.

Even the slowest GTX560 has clock speeds to rival and beat a factory overclocked GTX460.

nice explanation, thanks. You see im still pondering over everyones threads about which GPU to get for my new gaming rig, and of course I still cant make my mind up on which card to get around £150 mark

What PSU do you have? this is important as it needs to be able to supply the AMPs to the card without issues.

I can see two GFX worth considering,

Antec true power 650w 80 plus bronze

this ok?

the 560 or 560ti?
6870 has been recommened along with 560ti, just cant make my mind up on which one.

Benchmarks are 50/50 and both perform better or worse on a mixture of certain games.

the 560 will run bf3 on reccomended settings according to DICE, so the 560ti should fly with the big games coming out in the future.

This is what I want to make sure of, I dont want to buy a card that will need upgrading in 6 months to play the latest games coming out after crimbo. Although i dont mind upgrading in a year or 2.
