Hi Everyone

My last build din't happened :( as my wife to be, planed weeding this May so it I could only dream about replacement pc, and as I sold my last decent PC to family member I'm stuck at old trusty 775 socket with q8300 and 4 gb ram.

Because this is old socket and not much I can do with it I was looking over the net for upgrade with future proof and something that I can swap/replace later this year, I did narrow down to this

1 x MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Series Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £106.99
1 x Intel Core i3-4130 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £82.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G2400HC11CDC01) £59.99
Total : £259.57 (includes shipping : £8.00).

First is the Motherboard, I went for this one because of the looks, spec and when I can get my hands on i5/i7 I can overclock it.

Processor is nothing to rave about it but should give me the power that I use for some basic gaming and web/ movie browsing compare to my Q8300, should handle Black ops 2/ ghost??? I wanted to give BF4 a go but not sure, also looking to play watchdogs when I comes out.

Ram I think the teamgroup offer the best combo, cheap and good speed not sure if I ever going to see the difference to 1600mhz or not so maybe there is some money to be safe.

I have gtx 660 that I picked up last week so this will last my another year if not more, and 120GB SSD.

Sorry if this is long, also will be looking for top mounted PSU that will run my last combo so I can bin my daughter P4 at last.

Don't need anything else at the moment so what do you think?

I can't spend more the £260 at the moment so will have to say no to the I5 will get one in near future

Can you still get free postage with OCUK if you a forum member?

You can, but I can't remember the criteria - I think you only need to have 100 posts if you have been longer than a year.

No point getting AMD when I want to get I5 later on, plus I'm more of a Intel person, this upgrade is more to get me in to the newer socket with PCI 3, ddr3 and sata 3
