Had virtually no problems with the board, just thinking it's about time for an upgrade
The problem is that i'm wondering if i'll get a noticable performance increase now
Razael, the
problem is no one can answer the question you are asking apart from your, if you actually think about it for yourself it should be clear.
On one hand you obviously like playing with computer hardware and are not shy to tear apart your system to replace a motherboard, you also have a bit of spare cash and fancy a bit of retail therapy, it's all good.
Now I don't know how much enjoyement you get from tinkering with hardware? I also don't know how hard you work and therefore how much you deserve a little treat for yourself?
Performance? Unless you are a worshipper of the synthetic world of benchmarks or like to waaang your 4GHz ePeen about the place I really don't think upgrading your mobo will be something you can notice in actual use but I reckon you would find the process relaxing and it will keep you off the streets and out of trouble so why not indulge your hobby, maybe even sell your older motherboard to offset the costs a little
The P45 is very good btw, lots of little improvements but nothing earth shattering, it's appeal to me is the Northbridge has had a die shrink and uses less power, the ASUS boards also feature a new EPU (Energy Processing Unit) tech which can basically reduce the power your machine uses, less electricty, less carbon footprint, it's quite interesting for eco computing beardys but maybe not for the younglings!
P45 also overclocks like stink, features PCI-E 2.0 and the better boards (ala P5Q-Deluxe) have so many friggen BIOS options you will be kept busy for weeks!
Ultimately it's your choice, if you got other hobbies or that strange thing called a social life then maybe upgrading to P45 may not be the thing to do . . . but if computing is your main hobby and you got a bit of spare cash and spare time and you really can't see any other obvious area of your puter that needs an upgrade then treat yourself to a new motherboard!
No
problem!
