After almost 2 years in storage my PC's are back in business again, and currently in my ITX pc I have a RTX 2070 Super along with 32GB DDR4 3600MHz and a R9 3900X, and I was wondering if it would be time to upgrade the graphics card after 5years. However I am not looking for the latest and greatest any more... the 2 years hiatus made me have a "hardware upgrade" detox, so I am just looking for a fair upgrade with a decent amount of sense between performance gain and costs. I have been looking at RTX 4060 and 4060Ti, but I am unsure it that would be a suitable upgrade path?

It is barely an upgrade I'm afraid.

I toyed with the idea of upgrading my 2070super, I was recommended 6800 and 6800XT. With that in mind, I recently upgraded from a 3700x to a 5800x3d and the results are astounding. 2070super holds up very well in 1440p - so given current pricing - i'd probably hold off til black friday sales. I'm pretty sure 7700 and 7800 would have been released by then.

Not much interesting in the graphics card market at the moment. Nvidia don’t seem interested in competing at all and AMD don’t seem interested in fleshing out its product stack.

£450 for a 6800XT
£900 for a 7900XTX
£1600 for a RTX4090

This. Some 6950XTs can still be had too.

Avoid both the 4060 cards!

Maybe a 4070 as it's the cheapest RTX that'll be a decent upgrade from the 2070S.

Thank you all for the info, it seems I should hold out for a little longer and wait for some clearance sales/deals.

If you want a 6800XT or 6959XT move fast as stock is running out.

The others are current gen so no clearance, we're all hoping for sales but we might be waiting a very long time.

I went for a Powercolor Fighter Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB card for £325 after looking at reviews, power consumption heat and physical size. So for my ITX machine with a Sharkoon QB-One case, that particular card seemed to be the best "fit", and still a decent upgrade over the RTX 2070 Super.

What a' ya know.... the purchased RX 6700XT suddenly was postponed in stock for an unknown period, so I cancelled it. That might also have been a good thing since I instead found a used AMD Radeon RX 6800 16GB reference card used on german eBay for a decent "make an offer" pricing considering the market at the moment (£330).
