Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my components in my system and not sure whether to go for AMD or Intel. I have £500'ish to play with and will use the same PSU and SSD, HDD drives and GFX card, so really just looking for CPU, Mobo and RAM (16Gb). I'm a big online gamer and play COD - Ghost and Advanced Warfare, but also play Bioshock Infinity and the campaigns for COD.

I've always had Intel and Nvidia but AMD is a good price but I'm concerned about performance as I recently read that even some of the high end 8 core AMD's aren't performing as good as the quad core Intel's.

Also, I bought the below CPU for my sons PC and its fine for his video editing but overheats from time to time when dust builds up on the cooling grills and I have to clean it every couple of months, so I'm looking for a better cooling fan than the stock one it came with, so suggestions welcome please.

AMD FX-8320 (8 Core - 3.5Ghz)

Thanks in advance and a Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday to you :D

Free upgrade of the board in 3 years - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18631511

Thanks Stulid. I like the sound of the i7 and the Gigabyte mobo. Not ever had a Gigabyte board, always gone for ASUS but I like the reviews of this board it sounds a good performer and not a bad price, especially with the 3 year upgrade.

Both my sons case and mine are the Antec 900 which I might change mine as the drive bays are a nightmare.

What do you recommend on the CPU cooler for my sons and mine with the i7?

Just one last question, or two :) but how does the cash back work and the free 3 year upgrade? Can't seem to find anything in the write up so is this a OC deal or a Gigabyte deal?

Sorry, another question :) If I was to change my case I want a black matt metal case with plenty of airflow space. Easy access to drives and easy swap in and out for upgrades. I also want washable dusty filters on the air intake and plenty of room for cable management.

I like the look and sound of the Antec 902 but the drive bays look the same and they are a pain to get the disks in and out of the chassis because you have to take them out of the front. The Antec 1900 looks really nice but a bit pricey and I can't see if the front intake fans have dust filters that can be washed.

Any advise appreciated.

Ummm.

Corsair 450D.

Antec P100/280.

Phanteks.

Best advice is to watch YouTube videos of a case you are interested in.

OK thanks for the help Stulid, its much appreciated. Merry Xmas or Happy Holiday to you and yours :)

Hi, last check before I push the button on the I& and Gigabyte bundle with the Avexir Golden Blitz, is there any issues running in my Antec 900 with the Corsair 620W PSU and the sock cooler or should I got for a better cooler?

Have to decide today to get the Gigabyte deal!

You won't be able to overclock just yet with the stock cooler. That's all. It'll run. Be a bit noisy on load.

By all means go for a better cooler if you can, though.
