Upgrade Spec Suggestions Pls

My q6600 system is starting to become unreliable - time for an upgrade

I'm on a tight budget but I am looking at the following components for my upgrade:

i5 2500K, 8GB Ram, 1155 Motherboard

My other components are fine - his is my main design PC and I only do some light Portal2 and CSS action.

I'm getting stuck on which Motherboard and ram combo is the best for my £300ish budget. Some suggestions would be much appreciated.

whats happeneing with the q6600 system to become unreliable, cos if your only portal 2/css it might be cheaper to try and fix the q6600 setup if your on a tight budget.

edit :

2500K spec, no 3rd party cooler included due to budget, so could either go with 4gb and something like the Gelid Tranquillo, or add one at a later date if you go to overclock.
