Hi guys, this is the pc I built around about this time last year. I'm thinking of getting another 2bg of RAM for it and getting a new graphics card to replace my 7900GS (which my mate's buying off me).

what would be the best graphics card to get for around £60-£90. Or would it be a more sensible investment to just bite the bullet and get an 8800GT.

cheers

For £60-90 you won’t find a graphics card better than your 7900GS. If I was you I would go for the 8800GT if you can stretch that far.

yeah i was looking at the x1950, I've heard a lot of good things about it. I think ill wait a bit longer though and get the GT (when my student loan comes through, god bless it). Thanks a lot guys you've really helped

I wouldn’t have thought there would be much difference between a 7800GS and a X1950, certainly not enough to warrant an upgrade.

My mate (forum member: NomisF) has a 7900GTO. I have an X1950 Pro.

Difference? not worth a loss of more than £5.

Definitely save for something a bit better. 8800GT seems popular around here :)

how bout the difference between 7300GS (oc'ed to 614 core / 680 mem) v an x1950 (stock).
Is mem speed important on a card???
so far my p4 3 ghz with 2 gb ram and the 7300 gs with that oc will play all the latest games but only on lowest settings with minor lagging, i dont mind this but want to be able to play a pretty decentish spec :)
