Upgrade time.......but what shall i upgrade?

Hey guys/gals a bit of help needed if you dont mind

Current system:

Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case - Gun Metal Black (No PSU)
Hitachi Deskstar P7K500 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz @ 3.2
Corsair HX 520W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply
Abit IP35-E (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
2X OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Series
Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Samsung SH-S223F/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Now as technology has moved on i just thought id ask if you had about £500 what would you do with this? Used mainly for gaming and I ocassionally encode films.

all is connected to this btw running vista x64>> Samsung SM-2232BW Pebble 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Personaly your system is still fairly good, but if you have the money then upgarde to I7 or AMD 955.

for some reason i was thinking it was gonna cost a lot more to get an I7 system, thanks for the suggestions so far guys appreciated

Like most have said, your system is still very good.

If it was me, I would get 2 500GB WD black HDD's in Raid 0.

That's all that needs improving at the moment.

How about a SSD for your OS and games then use your 320Gb as storage? The instant access will probably make the biggest difference to an already good system.

Then you could upgrade your graphics when the next cards come out in a few months.

Someone at work suggested this to me today, any suggestions on which SSD to get, i might treat myself to a 1TB drive for storage because i'm fed up filling the 320GB and then having to delete stuff
