Upgrade Time, Couple of Questions

I plan on getting the following and re-using Corsair 520W PSU, 2 x IDE HDDs, Antec Sonata II case.

What's the score with installing XP from a SATA DVD Drive, do I need to sort drivers for it first for it to work ?

Does that graphics card fit in the case ?

Is the PSU up to scratch ?

iirc installing XP from SATA is fine its just RAID that needs drivers sorting from a floppy.

PSU comes highly recommended on here

All looks good although you could perhaps get a quad core for not much more. The graphics card should fit fine, there was a user on here who made up a list of compatible cases with the 8800GTS, from memory it was something like www.tosk.co.uk but I can't remember offhand.

PSU will be absolutely fine as mentioned.

I wasn't too far away with the website, I just couldn't remember the actual page title offhand, it is http://www.tosk.co.uk/8800/ but that doesn't actually mention the Sonata II so you may want to do a quick search of the graphics card or cases sub-forum.

xp (pro/home) sp1 needs sata drivers...sp2 does not
ps.sata drives were not out when xp came out

I've found a couple of mentions of the GTS being used in the Sonata II, so that looks ok, and it'll be SP2 I'm installing. If it's not having it I'll just unplug a HDD and use my IDE ROM.

Probably will go for the quad, may as well
