Right folks. Time for me to upgrade my graphic card.

I've had my Twin Fozr 5850 for 2 years and has done very well.

Budget will be £200 Max..!

Specs are:

3570k@ 3.8ghz
Z77X-D3H
Crucial M4 SSD 64gb
Corsair Low profile 8gb ram
Coolmaster Hyper 612S Cpu Cooler

Thanks.

Best bet is probably a cheapest good brand custom 7950 and then sell off the game bundles. It would still be a bit over £200, but considering the overclocking headroom, it's well worth the extra over the 7870.

Well i do intend top sell my 5850 on MM. so that will give me another 40quid.

So a 7950? Any other alternatives?

In that same price range I would have to say no.

The lowest spec wise Nvidia card I would go for is the GTX670 with a proper full size PCB and custom cooler (rather than the reference card with a dwarf PCB and rubbish blower cooler), but that would cost around £300+.

Cards around the same price as the 7950 is the GTX660Ti, it is generally slower, and comparing to 7950's 384-bit memory bus and GTX670 256-bit memory bus, it only has 192-bit memory bus - which quite frankly shouldn't belong in the £200+ price bracket.

Fair enough.

Take it that, will be the best card i can buy for my budget then? If so then, so be it.

How much of a increase will it be from mt Msi 5850?

+1

You should be able to comfortably reach 1100 MHz on the core as well for an even bigger boost. Will only require a tiny bit extra voltage as well on most cards and will still be pretty quiet. :)

Right then it is the card that i'll be getting.

I recently upgraded from a 5850 to a 7950 also. I was debating with going with a 7850, but I'm so glad that I spent that little extra and went with the better option, games run flawlessly, it's like playing on a brand new build all over again.
