Upgrade time: What to go for?

Just looking at the SGSII, possibly something I'd consider as I've seen various people talking about them on here...How does the HTC One S rate?

Will have to look up my bills to see the average minute time used up

EDIT: Also, not really wanting to change the ROm on this

The One S is considerably better.

Main differences? :)

I've not used either, and I presume the phones as 'stock' are still decently functional?

Long as it's quick and doesn't crash all the time I'm not overly fussed I guess.

Faster internals, nicer design and build, better screen, better battery life, nicer software without heavy modification, etc.

The main downside is that you're limited to 16GB storage as it can't be increased. Also I think the 1080p video recording on the Galaxy S II is slightly better as well. If neither of these things are a problem then the One S is definitely the one to go for.

The Note holds up better but it's huge and I don't know if you want something that big.

Thanks, the internal storage is better than my current phone I believe (San francisco)

And you would be right in thinking the Note would be a tad big, although it looks good, can't see myself putting it in my pocket all too easily ;)
 
Also with the one S you get 25GB of dropbox storage :)

It is worth looking at the galaxy nexus as well (mainly for the 720P screen and stock ICS [this is personal preference, I love both stock ICS and sense V4], but worse hardware than the One S), may be able to a decent enough priced contract somewhere.

I dunno, it seems like whatever we recommend it just seems like you want something better than the san francisco and like now anddddd regardless of the price :/

Not at all.

I got the San Fran because I could get it for 'free' on a £20 contract, now I'm after a new phone that is preferably better than tha San Fran but again will not cost me £30 a month because I can't afford that much at the moment :)

Thanks dude, will take a look, the contracts posted above look pretty decent, and as it's T-Mobile I should be able to get decent signal as they now use the Orange network as well I believe.
 
Read the thread, 3 have very good 3g and call strength these days and the SG Note is a fantastic phone that could last out the long haul in the hands of a shrewed consumer.

My sons love their Aces but all the other phones recommended to you by the brains trust are superior, imho.
 
Well, my contract is due on the 8th. And this is the best that Orange could do the SGSII for me:

For £23.40 a month I can do 200 minutes, Unlimited texts, 750MB of mobile data and unlimited BT Openzone WIFI (3GB fair usage) 2 swapables and the phone is £80 for 24 months.

If so, that's something I can't really do man :(

Naturally the plan is less, so 100 mins, £21 a month...But seeing as I tend to use less than 50 mins usually........ :)
 
Well the orange one you stated was £80 for the phone and you wont get it much lower if at all.

The t-mobile plan is most likely the cheapest you'll get.

Oh aye :)

On the T-Mobile one the phones free...I'll give Orange a call at some point and see if they can match it, otherwise i'll be walking

I did figure that :) Just wanted to check really, it's easier than phoning them.

Thanks though, I'll have a look, no doubt be cancelling my current contract and take a new one out

EDIT: Can get it on T-Mobile for £21 a month, should do me. I rarely go over 100 mins
