Upgrade time: What to go for?

It's more or less the same as going through the network, yes. You'll be able to set up an account on the site of the network and adjust things, etc.

Cool coooooooooool

Just debating whether to get a giff-gaff sim for the time being to save some extra money, then get a new contract on buymobilephones at a later date or not

Ditch contract altogether. Giffgaff is the way forward

At least, that is what my two weeks experience tells me :p I bought Galaxy Nexus for £285 and now pay £10 per month with Giffgaff.

PS thanks for all those that advised me to get GN over anything higher end i.e. S3/One X.... £285 for GN is insane value in my eyes. I wouldn't be taking full advantage of the features of the new quad core phones. I also went for the white version as I'm slightly gay :p I do like the white bezel. From the back it looks a bit girly, but from the front it looks sexxeh!

Aye, I've cancelled the contract with Orange. Just debating whether to get a GalaxySII for £15 a month...I'll still be saving a fiver at the end of the day :p And be getting a decent phone for once

Is the One S the one with the lack of Micro SD slot?

I've heard odd things about the HTC's if i'm honest...I used the Samsung on the weekend and it seemed good enough :)

Aside from the lack of MicroSD, I'd recommend the One S over the S2. Pretty much everything else is better bar the HD video recording.

If 16GB of storage isn't enough though then it's not much good.

Thing is, I'm coming from a Sanfran, so the SII is going to be leagues ahead of it anyway :)

I'll do some further reading and see which one I prefer, 16GB should be enough, just i'd like the option to have more if possible really

S2 and One S are pretty much on par - Pentile matix @256ppi is quite noticeable too.

^ In your dreams Samsung fanboy (Samboy?) ;):D

The One S is quite a bit faster, has much better battery life, runs 5-10C cooler, thinner, has a full aluminium unibody, takes better pics etc. Sure the screen and video recording is about the same but that's it.
Shame HTC totally gimped it with storage, no wonder you've got poor EU sales stupid fools. The phone is technically faster than nearly all netbooks for goodness sake, yet you give it 10GB of storage?

...and then you give your international flagship Tegra 3? Don't get me started on that one!
