Upgrade time: What to go for?

I did see that phone. But wasn't sure of it after my recent Orange phone experience

Ah fair point, I think the software is pretty "Orange-ised". Personally I'm waiting to see if/how easily people get root, and what roms are ported to it. If it's quite open, I may pick it up in future.

I've been looking at this as my old San Francisco is really struggling now.

Thinking this on talktalk or the new San Diego and stick with giffgaff. Third option is a lumia 710 but think that buying a win7.5 phone so close to the release of win 8 might be a bit wasteful.

Is the camera on the One S actually good or just good for a phone?

It's great for a phone. It depends whether you have realistic expectations or not. If you want SLR camera quality then you'll be extremely disappointed.

Just something that will give me a decent pic when out and about, already have a proper camera at home but don't tend to have it on me unless its a planned shoot.

Going to grab a vodafone sim to see what the network coverage is like here.

Was struggling to find a decent phone that fitted her budget with required mins etc, this one fits the bill nicely!
