Hello all

As you can guess from the title of the thread, i fancy an upgrade to my PC and i was wondering if people had any comments/suggestions. my current setup is:

Asus maximus formula X38 (DDR2)
E8400 at 4ghz (445*9 i think)
6GB DDR2 (1069mhz)
2xWD 750GB HDD in RAID 0
1x Seagate 7200.11 500gb
BFG 8800gts 512mb (750 core, 1899shader and 1100 memory)
Thermaltake toughpower 750w PSU

So yeah thats my current setup. I was planning to get 2 4870s in crossfire, my case isnt big enough for an x2, but given the 4890 is days away i might hold out for one of them. I was also considering getting a 280/285 and 'pruning' my HDD cage to allow installing, or even a gtx295. I was also thinking of upping to a quad core processor if it my current cpu is a system bottleneck. My biggest concern is my PSU really, 750w doesnt seem like a lot these days.

The system is mostly for gaming at 1920x1080 (i wont be going higher any time soon), a little photoshop and Chem3D (molecular moddeling type stuff, very cpu intensive sometimes). So yeah, GPU and possible CPU upgrade for under £400-500. should i save my pennies or should i spend?

Thanks!

Ask yourself is your pc struggling at all?

Seems like your chip is running at a nice speed. If anything just upgrade your Gcard
