Ok it's that time of year, where I spend money I don't have on upgrading my PC :D

I am currently running the following:

A-bit Pro Motherboard
Q6600 overclocked to 3.6
4 gig of DDR2 ram (OCZ)
1 x 285 GTX

Price is not a massive factor, BUT want a decent upgrade where I will notice difference in playing all modern titles, I play at a huge resoultion so need the power to drive the pixels....

Any suggestions are most welcome!!

If its Games that you are playing then without shadow of a doubt i would suggest most of your budget to go on your VGA cards.

You have a decent amount of memory and a reasonable CPU.

SLI > Triple > Quad somthing along those lines
Or
ATI Dual GPU card maybe in order
Rude question but do you have a budget?

Thanks for the reply matey, don't really have a budget (but am not rich), The inside of my case is a little tight for space so am looking at getting a much larger one even though I have a Coolermaster 832, it just does not seem big enough :-(

I was thinking upgrading something along the lines of....

1. Better graphic card(s)?!
2. Faster processor
3. More ram (maybe DDR3) six/eight gig?
4. Upgrade Mobo?!
5. And perhaps new case to fit it all in :-P

Cheers,
Lea

Fantastic :) the "Dont really have a budget..." is a good start :D lol

If it was me PERSONALLY i would go with....

1. DUAL GTX 285 (Save money as adding to existing card)
2. Intel i7 920 with a good old overlock
3. DDR3 Ram is the way forward :) Corsair or OCZ or Patriot (Down to personal pref)
4. Gigabyte Board
5. CM Sniper Case :)

That would be a lush setup :) and would play ALL The titles you wanted at full res

How about this bundle that OCUK are doing?? Looks AWESOME

That seems an awesome upgrade, thanks for pointing that out :-)

I have never had dual graphics cards, is a single card better?! Or is dual the way forward?!

With it being on offer with free delivery today could be the day I order :-)

Thanks for your input.

Is that case bigger than my current one?!

Dual is the way forward for sure, Combining the power of two VGA Cards :) Helps with Physics in game as well as rendering scenes and general fast paced gameplay.

That Bundle is the way forward for a setup without doubt ! :D

Hell......im half tempted to get one myself now LOL :p

I know we all love upgrading :) But your system should run all current games fine?

And as for a new Gfx card, the new DX11 cards are out soon, just wait.

Good point unknown sock, i was getting too into the NEW RIG thought then....... DX11 wont be far away.

Out soon?! Any idea when mate?! It does play them ok, but playing at 5040 x 1050 needs more power than I think I have :-/

I can wait if new cards are going to be released in the near future, would yu advise I just go for 1 graphics card when they are released?!

Thanks,
Lea
