Upgrade Time!!

I don't think I would let rumored driver issues affect your decision. I have been using ATi for years and have never had issues with them. The few Nvidia cards I used I had nothing but driver issues. Next guy will say the opposite.

Both sides can have driver issues, and I really don't see one having more than the other. I'd say buy the batter hardware.

Hey guys

Still tied between the 6950 and the 560'TI

What do ou guys think

Google ' 560 Ti review' and read the ones that have benchmarks for the games you play.

See which card has the better framerates ( minimum & average if possible ) at your resolution.

If you're considering a monitor upgrade in the near future, check that res as well.

Check the noise levels in some reviews if that kind of thing bothers you.

If it does, pick the quieter card.

Decide if you can afford it.

If ^^ = yes then click the buy button.

Review of various 560's, +6950 1g+2g,+570, +470, +6970
Should give you a good idea as loads of 560's to pick from, and how a 6950 2g(+6970 if you unlock the 6950) compares to them.

The 560's and 6950>70 are both cracking cards, but the 2g 6950>70 is a no brainer imo, it leads the pack most of the time and would be more future proof because of the extra vram.

Cheers for the links guys

Ive been looking at the benches for a couple of hours and really can't choose they seem to be so evenly matched. :P ATI wins in some games Nvidia in others.

I can't decide ;P

Do any of you guys have experience with either 6950 or 560 TI?

Im a bit of a tight wad on this sort of stuff i have to done tons of research first.

Hey guys

I'm now looking between the 480 and 6950 because of the recent prices

Which one should I get? I have a corsair vx550 psu and also a coolernaster cm690 II case.

Hey

Cheers for the suggestions i can't crossfire my board only supports SLI Nforce chip :)

6950 i taking my fancy at the moment but from what i have read the 480 is a very worthy card at lower res?

Regards Ryan

Ive been with ati for years and I've very rarely had trouble with drivers. Basically just dont go looking for probs and you will be fine. I have just got a 6950 a few weeks back, I nstalled drivers and all games Ive run on it are fine.

I upgrade the gfx drivers every 3-6 months or if I run into probs.

That is reassuring i may go for the Msi card should last me a while :)

Also I was thinking about going for the asus 480 as its quite a bit faster then the 6950, but the 480 uses more power, runs hotter, louder and less memory. So I went for the 6950 and apparently the 6950 is newer tech even tho its a slower card.

Just to let you know Ive got the his 6950 2gb, running it at stock speeds, and idel temp is 32 -36c, load is about 70c and it runs silent.

Edit: The 5850 is quite a bit slower then the 6950.
