Upgrade time

Ugh so close yet so far. Just the second got the RAM through the post and was pretty excited to pop it all in and have 16GB RAM to use but then the sod's law happened. One of the sticks is faulty! As it's a dual channel kit I'll be sending two of them back (the ones from the same package) but at least the other kit is working fine, so for the time being I'm running 12GB (with 4GB from the old PC).

At least I found the problem quickly, time to get in touch with OcUK again. :(

When I got in touch with them about faulty RAM they got me to pay for a new pair which immediately got sent off and refunded the old stuff at the same price.

So far everything else is working amazingly well. Guild Wars 2 at 5760x1080 with max settings and supersampling (no AA though) runs at ~70FPS, and the CPU is running at no higher than 52C at load, temperatures are amazing.

As my front fan couldn't reach the motherboard fan controller I'll need to get an extension cable for it, I'm sure I have one around here somewhere. Once that works I'm sure the CPU and other components will be much cooler still as there will actually be an intake fan.

Oh and with the side off the case it's quieter than my P180! I never thought I'd say that.
