Upgrade to iphone - where??

I'm currently on a non-iphone contract with O2 that's up for renewal and I'm wanting to upgrade to an iPhone 3GS, only when I vist the upgrade store on O2, there's no 3GS to choose from, only 8GB 3G ones :confused:

Anyone know how I'm meant to upgrade?
 
I don't think there are upgrades as such, but just new.

I would guess based on previous iPhone methods that you sign up for a new contract on the iPhone Tarriff, and migrate your number over to the iPhone.
 
My wife walked into the o2 store and they upgraded her to a 32GB 3Gs there and then, no questions, no problems. She wasn't on an iphone contract either. She looked online but didn't have the option to upgrade to the 3Gs either
 
Looks like I'm going to have to upgrade in store then, since they don't have them as an upgrade online, or by phone apparantly. Will head to an O2 shop tomorrow, there's a stock checker on the website but unless I'm being stupid it doesn't actually tell me anything?

Clicking the 'check availability' link brings me to a store locator with no stock information :confused:
 
Can't you go into CPW to get an upgrade? I'm sure they did it there and I can't see a problem why you can't get a 3GS (Unless they are out of stock).
