Upgrade to SATA worth it?

I've currently got a mostly empty 200Gb IDE drive in my system.

Would the performance improvement from upgrading to a SATA drive be worth the hassle (and cost)?

Main benefit is probably the tidier cable. I'd say if you're buying a new drive anyway there's no reason to go IDE but I wouldn't upgrade for the sake of it.

I changed to sata because i have a smaller case, better cable management otherwise i would have stayed with IDE.
