i have a 6970 iceq 2gb and a
6950 xfx unlocked to 6970 shaders

i would like to no how much i would get for these 2 cards and what suggestions i should buy, sick of having xfire stutters and stuff

thanku

6970 crossfire is a pretty powerful setup, you may lose a bit of performance with a single card but it should feel smoother as well due to no crossfire stuttering. Have you tried install the CAPs though to see if that helps?

Can't say price here since price checks aren't allowed the member's market.

6990 (two 6970s underclocked to 6950 speeds) vs a 7970 @1ghz (but not with the extra performance from 12.11 drivers): http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/515?vs=508

So a 7970/7950 overclocked to 1ghz+ with 12.11 drivers should be similiar to your crossfire setup.

so you would recommend keepin my setup for the time being?

i have the latest caps most of my games run smooth with a bit of messing with configs and stuff ..farcry 3 is appauling and rage

It's a mixed bag tbh going from 6950>70@(950/1GhzMHz game specific) CrossFire to a 7970@1200Mhz, some titles perform better, others worse.

You won't notice more oomph as such unless you are really having a bad time with CrossFire.

I only moved over due to boredom and using 3D tbph and needed to put an itch to bed as I had the 69's since launch, but they were almost flawless for me, perhaps I was just lucky but I put it more down to staying on top of CrossFire keeping an eye out for drivers/caps and game specific threads.

:)

I've moved to a single 7950 from 2 x 6970 in crossfire, so much more time just playing games rather than trying to get them them to work properly ;)
