Hey all, well I am going to have to finally bite the bullet. My i5 3570K is pretty darn good but the motherboard (z77 ds3h) is giving me all sorts of headaches, especially with the USB 3.0 ports and trying to get another socket 1155 motherboard is futile. Adding in a pcie card gives me a bsod so I feel really hesitant to plug a new CV1 in there, especially as my DK2 mysteriously died a couple of months ago.

So having thought long and hard about whether to go z170 or x99, ive decided on the x99 route. Will be salvaging my trusty power supply (750w Akasa) and a 970. Any thoughts appreciated, especially on that cooler...

Cheers both, swapping out the kingston drive for a samsung one and wondering if i should go water cooling at all - the aio coolers had some leak complaints in a thread somewhere. Might just stick with an old reliable fan, even if it is white... eek.

As far as AIO's go as long as you avoid the Raijintek ones you should be ok. Check out the new Antec ones for excellent performance for your money.

Aio will be better but if your worried stick with an air cooler. Rest looks fine to me.

There are plenty of air coolers. If your after black to go with the board etc. Dark rock do good coolers. Ensure that it will fit the case though.
