Upgrade worth it?

Hi

I currently have a Sapphire 9600XT with 256 megs installed on my computer. I'm thinking about buying a Sapphire X1600 Pro 256MB, mainly for the shader 3.0 support so I can play games like Oblivion in all their glory. Is this upgrade worth it with an AMD XP 2500+? Any suggestions for a better alternative card on a tight budget of very close to £100 would also be welcome.

The X1600pro will be heaps faster than the 9600XT.
