I basically Play DayZ and DOTA

but i wouldnt mind upgrading i currently have:

CPU: i5-4670 @3.40ghz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Geforce 680gtx
Power: Seasonic 450w

What would be a good upgrade, i7? 980? 16gb ram? i want a second screen also... Dont want to spend a fortune, im a bit of an Asus fan boy too when it comes to GPUS (ROGs)

Cheers

You don't need to upgrade anything for dota.

If dayz is like arma then it likes a fast cpu.

If you must upgrade then sell your cpu assuming you have a z board and get a 4690k then overclock it.

A 970/r290 would be a reasonable upgrade if you can sell your 680 but what is the 2nd screen for, gaming?

Background work while gaming etc - Ive got an ASUS Maximus Gene so yes a Z board :)

With the state DayZ is in, whatever you give it wont make it any better playability wise.

The 680 is still solid, I have 2 and one manages to pump out high/ultra settings. Grab a second monitor and away you go.

No point in upgrading yet?

Invest what you have not in a second screen but a main screen and use old one as 2nd

i have a BenQ XL2411Z 24" TRUE 144Hz

so not really sure what second monitor i should get? the same or something slightly better but whats better?

Well thats still a very good monitor as well, I enjoy playing on my GF's dads monitor when we go round.

For background work, a 24" standard monitor is all you need.
No point getting a better main screen to use a very good gaming monitor for work related tasks!
