I wouldnt think so i would go for either the 960 4gb or the 380 4gb.

If you dont want to upgrade yet and want to wait for the next generation tech to come out... i would just buy an ssd driver for your current system ! it would make it heaps better

SSD's can't work miracles. While it will speed up loading it won't do anything for fps.

My system is set up with an SSD. I changed from a HDD last year and boot times are incredible, but gaming wise, I haven't noticed.

What model of phenom is it? You should be able to get 25% more out of it by overclocking with a decent cooler. Gpu upgrade should come first as it'll have the biggest impact on performance.

Have a look for used 7970s or 290s for a good value upgrade.

I did. I tried using the AMD overdrive software to get it to a safe overlock but it kept freezing.

Do it in the bios. That way you learn what you are doing at the same time.

I've managed to overclock my CPU from 3.0Ghz to 3.5Ghz.

Now I'm unsure whether to go for a 950 or 960GTX.

Your cpu should go further than that. As for gpu's, if you are buying new you may as well wait for the new cards to come along now.

If you can wait a bit longer I believe some new GPUs are going to be released by nVidia in the next few months.

I personally would upgrade everything, but that is me, what is your maximum budget? is there any chance you can wait and save a bit more so you can buy better parts?

What about a total system upgrade?

I'd be thinking of an Intel DDR4 based system. I would keep my CD drive and case. PSU is 600w. I don't know a budget yet maybe circa £600. I'd keep my SSD but only for OS and add another 500GB SSD.
