I've upgraded my old canon 450d to a Nikon d750 and thought I'd share my experience.

This is a hobby and I'm still learning.

Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

It was over my budget but after considering many cameras I settled with the d750 as it had the features I wanted, mostly a full frame sensor and not a huge body. The weight is very good as I did not want something that was too heavy.

Low light performance.
I take pictures of people and needed something that was good indoors. I used to use a flash with my other camera but this I do not need one. I never expected it to be this good in low light.

I bought a 50mm 1.8 Nikon lens which is very sharp. Also, bought a 24-70mm tamron vc lens which I have yet to receive and waiting patiently.

Software interface could be better but it does the job.

Still learning all the features.

The canon was a great camera that served me well. It was my first dslr. I need to now sell all my canon lenses.

lol, yeah that happens! Let us know your thoughts on the 24-70 when it comes, wanting one myself. :)

The low light focus ability of the d750 was stand out for me when I got it.

I have a D750 with the 50mm f/1.8g and the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8.

Couldn't be happier with it, awesome body and lens combo.

I'm considering picking up the Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 also..

The body isn't too big or heavy as you said and with the 50mm lens on, it's a small and light package that delivers fantastic performance. It's widely regarded as one of the best all round full frame cameras on the market, taking into account the features, performance and price.

I picked up my body brand new (grey import) for £1018 delivered at the start of the year. That's a lot of camera for the money in the current market. Prices do seem to have gone up a bit now though.

Congratulations on a great purchase :)

Cheers mate.

I know what you mean - brand new now is £1699.

Mine was "used" for £1350, it was in perfect condition and only 1k shutter count and 12 months warranty. So I bought it.

Yes I did see that but I was a little unsure about the warranty when buying from ebay.

I guess it's all the same really.
