Upgrades for streaming

Howdy all,

I decided against upgrading my PC for gaming, since all my friends are on xbox but i quite like streaming my games on said console. My current PC isnt cutting it (spec in sig, GFX is dead) I can stream my xbox on OBS at 720, but id like to stream it 1080 at 60fps without absolutely no problems. What do i need? i hear i dont need a gfx card?

No budget in mind, just going to try and snag some parts in black friday/cyber mondaysales. Not looking for an absolute 4k streaming monster but more than capable of 1080 as said :)

Help a brother out.

stream card, always the cheapest .
or USB stream devicee

most people run basic second systems with i3 or anything with capture card

I'm using an elgato hd60s (not the card you fit internally, the usb device)

If my memory usage jacks up. Would upping from 8gb to 16gb help with the stuttering?

Would replacing my dead gpu help also?

Stuttering sounds like CPU (though i5 3570k isn't exactly weak for encoding) as I can capture fine on a laptop with 4GB but it struggles at 1080p as the CPU maxes out. Besides from what most say for streaming, unless you're partner stick to 720p/60 with a higher bitrate. While 1080/60 is nice the lack of bitrate shows a lot of blocking on fast action/movement.

Wow....I just got my "dead" gpu working...

It occurred to me that i haven't cleaned the interior since i built the thing...needless to say it was rammed full of dust. Got out most of what i could, took out the GPU and gave it a good clean and its working....smh

Shockingly terrible! You should be using an air can and/or rocket blowers once a month. With the hoover nozzle on the floor to catch anything. Keeps the bulk away.

Yea it is. It never really occurred to me. smh. Needless to say ill be bearing that in mind from now on lol

Hopefully with the GPU working, it'll take some of the load off the CPU when streaming.

Bumping this rather than creating another thread for the same thing

So i started streaming and managed to get affiliate so i can start NOT getting paid. Im having some problems though. When i used OBS(stream Labs) my pc stutters every few seconds so i started using the Elgato streaming program, that ran nice and now im using regular old OBS, which also runs ok (all this at720/60fps where possible). Problem is i want to use SLOBS (on 1080 @60fps)for all the nice easier to use features, so i definitely need to upgrade something. Im thinking i might aswell up a few things since the system itself is many years old. Can anyone offer suggestions on the following based on the parts i will be keeping:

RAM - want to up from 8GB to 16GB
GPU - While my current one does work, im pretty sure the dust build up has caused some damage and causes problems from time to time
CPU - My thinking is more power, less stress on my system as a whole as it is a pc i use for everything, not just streaming.
PSU - Something Modular, my current one is just a mess of cables
Case - I'm bored of looking at my current case, something to fit everything, has good cable management and is perrdy.

Dont really have a budget in mind but not looking to spend 2k lol, hopefully that comes across how i want :)

Thanks guys, you all rock!

have you done a fresh install of windows ? everything cleaned out , wondering if any background programs that aren't needed or installed via 3rd part apps are causing issues .
also, what LAN port does your board feature and net connection ?

in theory you dont even need a GPU in a stream/capture only rig due to having the CPU and capture card and using onboard iGPU

tried Xsplit Gamecaster before ?

slobs eats memory to , whats ram usage when your up and running ?

I've not tried Xplitter

My ram usage sits around the 50% mark, give or take. My CPU sits between 35-50%. thats with me using the GPU to help stream

EDIT: I tried Xplit but to cast the console you need to pay a monthly fee. So ill have to give that one a miss for now

So yeah, suggestions for upgrades for the following would be appreciated :)
