Hi guys,

new to the gaming pc world and looking for some advice I play warzone mostly and wanting to achieve 130+ fps at 1080p. Currently filter around 105fps-110fps on low-medium settings

my current set up is:

i5-9400f
Rtx Asus Phoenix 2060
MSI B365M PRO-VH motherboard
Xpg Gammix D10 8gbx2 3000mhz
Wd green 240SSD
Seagate barracuda 1Tb HDD
500W power supply

I use a 165hz Aoc curved 1080p monitor l. Any upgrade advice would be well appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve noticed they are hard to get hold of. I don’t mind buying used I have been looking at the 2060 super or 2070 super. I’ve also been looking at upgrading to the I7-9700k cpu would one of these parings be enough to get the fps I’m after?

2060 super is not good enough upgrade so if you go for a 2070 super then check benchmarks before you purchase. Also check Your power supply is good enough.

9700k may get you more fps but i would look to upgrade gpu first if ypu can, dong overpay its better to wait .

You would probably be better swapping out the board and CPU to a B560 + 11400F rather than putting a 9700K in your current board.

In the GPU market right now with poor availability and hiked prices the best option would be to set up discord / telegram alerts and try to pick a 3060ti or3070 founders edition for £369 or £479 respectively.

Thanks for the reply, is swapping the motherboard easy enough to do? And just out of interest why would you do this? Will be setting up alerts for the 3060ti

You need to change the motherboard so the new cpu will be conpatable, how easy this is depends on your diy skills and knowledge but its not to difficult.

Yes I understand that they are different sockets I see. But what is the benefit of it? Would I get better fps with the i5-11400f and 3060ti set up rather than a i7-9700k 3060 ti? Like I said I’m new so trying to figure it all out

Fps would be slightly better especially since you can't even overclock the 9700K on your current board, you would also gain PCIe gen 4.0 and better support for features like resizable bar which you can use on the 3060ti to gain some extra fps in some titles. The 11400F is only £150 which is quite cheap although I'm not sure what a 9700K currently goes for.

The board you have doesn't even have a heatsink on the VRM so may struggle with a 9700K even at stock.

Thank you for the explanation,:D do you think I would need to upgrade my ram and power supply for the new set up? the 9700k goes for around £210 i believe

Need to look in the case at the psu to look at make and model but you should be fine going to a 11400f.

Motherboard with Wi-Fi if needed, also a 1tb m2 ssd .

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £400.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Thanks for all your help, when it comes to fitting the new motherboard and cpu is it a case of just plug in and it will load up or do I have to do anything through the bios?

It will load upto the bios but you then will have to set up boot device for which drive has Windows on. You may slso have to re register your Windows key but it may be better to fo a fresh install of Windows. Windows can find drivers but its best to download them from the motherboard manufacturer website.

There are lots of guides online and videos.
