Hello,
my current settup is this:Foxconn H55MXV
intel core i3 530 @2.93GHz
4Gb DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5450
300w PSU
20" monitor 1600x900
and i have rescently bought a ATI saphire HD 5770 to upgrade to, and now need a new psu. i have looked on a number of websites to try and find out what PSU to get but am still rather confused:

while the cooler master GX 450w:

seems to have done well in reviews i have been warned against getting one and have instead been recommended the antec vp350, even though it is 100w lower than the recomended wattage of the graphics card.

any light on the subject?

P.S: am rather budgeted......

The Coolermaster range of GX PSU's did get some poor reviews, but this was mainly for the larger versions of the PSU 500w & 600w which had a different OEM manufacturer to the 450w version, these were updated to a new OEM manufacture later.

With the Power rating on the GPU, this tends to be for cheap PSU'S.

I would personally say you can't go wrong with either.

Looking at the two PSU's you've posted already I'm assuming your budget is £30?

about that yeah, maybe up to £40 if i can scrape some stuff together, kinda spent most of my money on the graphics card thinking PSU's wern't that expensive (you can tell it's my first time doing stuff like this)

thanks :), however i'm still unsure how the Antec, which is 350w, can supply a graphics card that recommends 450w? is there something i'm not getting?

Manufacturers air on the side of caution, as the rest of your spec is fairly low powered and you will be purchasing a quality branded unit rather than a cheap nasty PSU you should have no issues in the PSU supplying the required power.

Looking in the AMD website they recommend a 400w PSU or more.
