Hey chaps,
My objective is the ability to game at 4K 144hz maintaining a 100-120 FPS minimum if possible. (Silky smooth frames, but not super high-end budget)
The challenge comes with the fact that my rig has been upgraded over and over since 2010, so I imagine I will be replacing the majority of components.
Current Specs:
MOBO/CPU: Asus Maximus VII Ranger - Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
RAM: 4x8GB DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz 240-pin DIMM
PSU: Corsair RM Series RM 1000 '80+ Gold' 1000W
Disk: Seagate SSHD 7200RPM 3.5" 1TB SATA 6Gbs 64MB Cache
Monitor: ******** NVISION LIFE 24" WIDESCREEN LED MONITOR
Case: Antec 300 Midi
New build:
Retaining the PSU/DISK, as I see no real upgrades there.
MOBO/CPU: AMD 3900X Bundle - AMD 3900X, Gigabyte X570 Gaming X, Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32GB 3600MHz Bundle (12 Cores / 24 Threads))
GPU:GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER WINDFORCE OC 3X 8G 8192MB GDDR6 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD
Monitor: ASUS ROG STRIX XG27UQ 27" 3840x2160 IPS 144Hz 1ms FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible HDR400 Widescreen Gaming
Comes in at £2,169.96, but I'm essentially getting a brand new PC, based on needing the main component upgrades.
Need a new AM4 slot cooling for the CPU as well, but not sure on this. They all look the same to me.
Main selection reason behind the Nvidia card, is the G-Sync. Seems to be worth the extra, instead of a cheaper but equally capable Radeon card.
Appreciate the advice.
