I'm going to upgrade my gfx card from a 980ti to a newer model and I have a budget of around £250 to 300. I've looked at the jump to the 2060 or 5700 and they don't seem worth while in performance for the money I'm spending? I'm a 1080p gamer but would like to go to 1440p if I can.. My psu is 750w also.

What advice would you give me?

Save more money while you wait for the latest cards from AMD and Nvidia to actually hit the shelves. The 3080 is probably going to be around £700, I think it was, but the 3070 will be cheaper and will still thrash the pants off that 980Ti.
You may want a bigger PSU too, and I won't expect the GPU shelves to be especially well stocked until Jan/Feb next year, so that's plenty of time to save up for the PSU and maybe even the 1440 monitor.

In the meantime, the 980Ti is more than enough for 1440p on its own and a very capable card for VR - It's what I've got, after all!
