My current specs are:
[email protected]
8GB ram
GTX 970
SSD
HD
Win 10
24" 120HZ monitor.

Other then the SSD and gfx card I have not upgraded for years.
I can run most games at 60FPS @ultra but I have a upgrade itch and thinking of going 1440p.
I want to get a overclocked pre-built from here and use my gfx card and ssd in the new build. My budget is 2K, I want a beast PC. Thanks.

What are you hoping to accomplish? The difference in perf isn't going to blow your mind.
Why don't you just pick up a GTX 1080 and a 1440p 144Hz Gsync display and call it a day? (Oh and go up to 16GB of RAM).

I would go the 1080 and 1440p 144hz monitor route. I have a 2500k @ 4.5ghz with a 1070 and a Dell 1440p 144hz monitor, and I'm very happy with it.

Intel 7700k, 16 RAM, asus motherboard bundle and then add a G-snyc 1440 monitor, use your own SDD & Graphics card for 3 months for prices to go down on Nvidia card and wait for Vega before you get a GPU

Yes, wait for Vega.... for your G Sync monitor...

If you weren't in such a hurry to knock others, and read more carefully, I doubt you'd continue to make this kind of frequent comprehension error.

Howdy,
I also am still running a 2500K (its a great chip) I bought a 980TI 18months ago which was a fantastic upgrade
then last year got a 34" 3440 x 1440 Gsync monitor , I have toyed with the idea of getting a new kick ass system
But decided that for the little gain I would see it would not be worth the expense

This was what I was thinking of getting but decided not to

Sorry I meant to say When Vega comes out, Nvidia card prices could fall in price so He could by a Better Graphics card like this gtx 1080ti
and yes Gsync monitors are for nvidia card & FreeSync monitors are AMD cards.
