Upgrading from a Barracuda headset... but to what?

I have a Razer Barracuda, but want to upgrade to something better, with slightly more bass. I currently have an X-fi Xtremegamer soundcard, but my next PC next year will probably have a Xonar.

Is there anybody out there that owned a Barracuda, and upgraded to something that clearly sounds better?

And on another note, how much difference would a normal stereo headphone be vs a 5.1 one?

Get a decent set off sennheisers - put the X-Fi into CMSS-3D mode - and you've got all the advantages of positional audio of the barracudas, with much better sound quality.
