Upgrading from AMD R390

Yeah so I'm a little behind on the GPU front

Can anyone suggest an upgrade path from an AMD R390.

I'm guessing there are many given how old my rig is.

I'm afraid whatever you buy will be an outrageous sum of money. Something like a 6700 or 3060 Ti would have been a good upgrade, but they're double the price they're supposed to be and so is everything else.

Budget is not going to be enough by the sounds of it was looking around £300, £400 at a push.

All are contributing to strain on the supply chain in some way. Cards are more expensive than ever because supply is short.

Almost anything is going to be an improvement on what you've got but you're likely to be cpu bottlenecked if you're thinking of gaming.

Not in this market, a 1050 ti or 1650 are the only (new) cards in budget and they're both a downgrade.

I’d wait for prices to dip and upgrade your system. R390 kinda still holds up in this day and age. The cpu bottlenecks on your current system may be the breaking point

Only a year ago you could buy vega 64's for £200 new when stock popped up, I would keep with the 390 until the madness ends

Keep the R390 until stock situation settles down, but also keep an eye out for 3060Ti FE cards from NVIDIA, they do pop up at MSRP from time to time.

Nope, this is capitalism pure and simple - demand outstrips supply until equilibrium on pricing is found. Just because that means you are priced out of the market doesnt mean it`ll change.
