Hi all,
I'm still rocking my circa 2008 system and it just isn't cutting it any more:
i5 750
GA-P55-UD5
4GB DDR3
My next build will be an mITX steam machine, but what with skylake not being as impressive as many hoped, I'm not sure where to go next.
This is especially true as I want to stick around the mid level price/performance point, so it looks an X99 system, especially an mITX one, is right out of the window.
I'm looking to game at 1080p medium-high settings.
I'm not interested in overclocking and the skylake i5 and mITX board seem a bit expensive for my needs.
Would it be crazy to just build a Haswell machine still? I'd be happy to spend around £250 - £300 for a CPU/board & RAM. I'm probably going to end up with a 960/970 of some sort GPU-wise.
Any advice? Feels like an odd time to upgrade for users like me.
Ta!
