Well, kinda thinking of spending some coin... bit bored at the moment, however, seems to me to get an upgrade I need to be moving away from ATI and going 1080 nVidia? I game at 5760x1080 and usually like everything maxed out... Any advice on where to go with the spec per sig?

Just for interest, currently running BF4 around 100fps maxed, BF1 around 65fps maxed....

AMD* ;)

Is it the setup in your sig? 290X and the 295 is still a decent GPU so you're right about going 1080, should give a better smoother experience than your trifire setup without the issues with multi GPUs. But Vega is less than a month wait so I would wait for that, and see which card offers the best value for money.

Another option is to sell your GPUs, the mining craze has jacked these prices up especially for GCN AMD cards so you may even get enough to go 1080Ti.

so I'm not seeing me getting any massive increase in performance upgrading then... more a sideways step? mmmmmm... tbh I'm just bored, had same gear for a while and fancied a new xFire or SLi setup tbh... however want to see a steup in performance... currently getting around consistant 50-65fps climbing to 80's in BF1 and wondering what was out there at the moment that would get this over 100fps constantly at my res.

Might have a wait for this new ATi card see what it's like...

Sorry but that's poppycock imo. The 1080Ti is roughly twice as fast as a 980Ti (and the 980Ti buries the 290X);

Change your link to 290x vs 1080ti. Times 290x number x2, then by 1.3. I take it you failed @ Maths?

Since I assume you did, let me help you:

ROTTR 4k -24.6x 2 = 49.2. 49.2 x 1.3 = 64. 1080ti gets 65.6

BF4 4K - 38x2 = 76. 76 x 1.3 = 98.8. 1080ti gets 99.7.

Should I keep going or do you wanna keep your "poppycock" opinion to your self?

You have waited this long, I would wait to see what the next AMD card will be.

Then decide between it and the 1080ti if you really want to change. While you might not great a huge boost in performance on paper, it will still feel like a huge boost. Games will run a lot smoother.

Yeah in no rush so lets see what ATi chucks out...

Just been looking at prices on a certain site for selling the 295x... wondering how much one of these would get realistically?
