Heh, you lot probably get so fed up reading these threads and i'm sorry. Anyway, i'm looking for a little advice. I'm going to upgrade my 6600GT and i'm considering the XFX Geforce 7900GT 256mb Extreme Edition. I'm considering this card because my 6600GT is XFX and i'm ultra impressed by them. However i need to know a few things:
1: First of all, how much will my processor, a AMD64 Socket 939 3000+ Venice 1.8Ghz, affect the GFX, if at all? I'm considering doing a quick upgrade to a 3500+ later on in a month or two, but i'm just wondering for tis now?
2: I have a 460W Hiper PSU. Is that ok?
3: Should i consider another GFX brand other than XFX in the Nvidia card area? I'm not ever likely to overclock my card but i've heard the Asus is particularly good as well.
4: I've been looking at the Ati X1900XT and X1800XT, who seem to both be particularly good cards. However i'm put off by them because they supposedly take up a hell of a lot of PSU power and i've had some trouble with Ati in the past. That and i'd need to do a swap from Nvidia to Ati which i hear is a nightmare. Should i consider them as well though in choice, remembering that i have a 460W PSU?
