Hi,
I have an old mb which is pci-e 1.1 & have been thinking of upgrading my gtx660 to a gtx1060.
Will the older version pci-e make that much difference. In the framerate etc in gaming.
Thanks

CPU makes a big difference though what CPU do you have if its over 8 years old & less than 2 cores you may find its an extreme bottleneck with a recent GPU!

I would be more concerned about what CPU you pairing it with then the pci revision but in terms of upgradability it should be fine but it might be worth getting the latest bios for your motherboard. Also a 1060 on a pci 1.1 platform.....that's going to be overkill you should set your sights lower to a 1050 and even that's going to be bottlenecked.

If you have the money for a 1060 I would say you should consider saving up a bit more and consider doing a full replacement.

Been told on the board is pci-e 2 but shows 1.1 when ticking over... Which is great..
I have an i5 3570k CPU so everything seems OK for my upgrade.... Lastly is the 6gb version worth the extra over the 3gb version of the gtx 1060.... Thanks again.

I'd say so, yes. I've got the 6GB one with an i7-2600 and it's great, massive improvement over the 1GB 6870 I had before. It runs very cool and quiet too so don't be too bothered about paying more for a bigger cooler with more fans.

You have an 3570k Ivy Bridge. That should be running pci 3.0, do you know what motherboard your have?
